1962 CD and 1959 DB HBR4

1962 CD and 1959 DB HBR4

These two cars are both veterans of the Le Mans 24 Hour race.
The CD was one of the team cars in 1962. Driven by Bernard Boyer and Guy Verrier, its 702cc motor failed after 14 hours.
Better known as 'Le Monstre', the DB was created by André Guilhaudin from a basic HBR4 over several years. The lowered roofline and faired-in wheel arches gave it a top speed several kph faster than the factory entries with the standard body. Co-driven by François Jaeger, the owner took it to 20th place in the 1961 race.
